Ellard is the culmination of extensive planning and vision. Each Ellard home will blend with the natural elegance of the neighborhood design. The community offers traditional elements including parks, tree-lined/lamp-lighted sidewalks, porches and verandahs. The pristine land design includes acres of open spaces, greenbelts and wildlife preserves - land which will remain protected and undisturbed. The discriminating charm of Ellard is enhanced by these distinctive amenities.

Caretaker's Cottage Welcoming our residents is the 2,500 s.f. Caretaker's Cottage, which was designed to represent buildings at the entryways of estates common in England in the 18th Century. It signifies arrival, privacy, security and it architecturally represents a relationship to the main structure of an estate. The Caretaker's Cottage is available as a community multi-purpose facility, with a kitchen, a grand room with fireplace, three meeting rooms and a verandah that provides a unique view of the boulevard of homes. |
The Conservatory Clubhouse After passing through the Caretaker's House, a short drive down the boulevard of homes will bring into view the centerpiece of Ellard. The Conservatory, a Georgian-style clubhouse is located on a four-acre preserve near the Chattahoochee River. It serves as a gathering place for neighborhood, social, business and other informal activities. It features the lush Conservatory Park, a swimming pool and gazebo, a stone grotto provides showers and changing rooms, gas grill, two lighted tennis courts and a state-of-the-art 'tot lot' playground.
|
The Pool Just behind the Conservatory, the Ellard pool is reminiscent of a turn of the century swim facility with a large gazebo for escaping the sun, or a perfect place to spot the deer that still roam the river preserve along the Chattahoochee river. A stone grotto provides showers and changing rooms, as well as a covered refuge perfect for poolside parties. Lifeguards work full time during regular pool hours, and are available for private events. Tables with umbrellas, chaise lounges, and a gas grill provide all the basics for fun in the sun. And be sure to make plans for the annual dinner by the pool featuring local live music that puts Chastain to shame.

Tennis Facilities Two regulation sized, hard surface courts provide the perfect spot for everything from children's lessons, to the fiercest mixed doubles match. Benches and a gazebo provide spectator seating, while the nearby playground keeps the kids happy while mom and dad practice their ground strokes. The courts are fully enclosed with full wind barriers, and lighting provides the ability to play on into the evening. Local instructors frequent the courts to provide lessons for players of all skills and ages. The pool and its shower and changing facilities are also just steps away.

Conservatory Park In honor of Lawrence C. and Leila Ellard Garrard
Site of the annual Ellard Easter Egg Hunt, Conservatory Park sits in the heart of the Ellard Community. Shaded benches under the maple trees provide a perfect spot to watch neighborhood life go by, or to cheer on the occasional football or soccer game that may break out. The park also plays host to the outdoor activities that accompany many Conservatory events. |
Twelve Acre Park
Just south of Pristine Place, sits the entrance to the Ellard twelve acre river park. Deer still inhabit the area and you can still imagine how the area once looked long ago when Addison Holcomb operated his river ferry just upstream from this site. The site also was the scene of indian, and later civil war battles and if you're lucky you just might find a musket ball or arrow head. Walking trails provide easy access to the river, and picnic tables are located along the river just for the occasional pic-nic. |
